Stanford Midfielder Kyle Hency Named Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- STANFORD redshirt senior midfielder Kyle Hency has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 30- Nov. 5, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Hency, from Waterloo, Ill., helped the Cardinal defeat the first and second place teams in the Pac-10, UCLA and San Diego State, respectively. Against the Bruins, Hency shot twice and made the game winning goal to secure the 2-1 win over UCLA. Against San Diego State, Hency led the Cardinal with two goals on four shots to give them the 3-0 victory.
In the past two games, Hency scored both the game winning goals and fired six shots, scoring on half of his attmepts.
Stanford (3-2-2, 6-4-5) will resume play this weekend as the Cardinal takes on Oregon State on Fri., Nov. 9 and Washington on Sun., Nov. 11.
This is Hency's first weekly honor and the ninth all-time award for the Cardinal.
