Daugherty's Recruiting Class Gaining National Recognition
Nov. 16, 2007
PULLMAN, Wash. - When Washington State women's basketball head coach June Daugherty announced her inaugural recruiting class Wednesday, she felt like she had brought in one of the most talented groups of student-athletes in the country. Blue Star Basketball agreed with the coach's sentiments, ranking the class as the 16th-best nationally.
The ranking was the second-highest for a Pacific-10 Conference school, as USC came in at No. 10. Five of WSU's recruits are high school All-Americans, and five were nationally-ranked by various publications.
Joining the Cougars next season are Katie Grad (Auburn, Wash.), Jessica Oestreicher (Redding, Calif.), April Cook (Long Beach, Calif.), Danielle Lenoir (Los Angeles), Lexie Pettersen (Spokane, Wash.), Rosie Tarnowski (Philadelphia, Penn.) and Jazmine Perkins (Berkeley, Calif.).
Blue Star Basketball has been one of the most influential organizations for over 25 years in selecting and advising such publications rankings and listings as found in The Sporting News, USA Today, Gatorade Circle of Champions and the McDonald's All-America team.
