FSN Is The Television Home For Husky Hoops
Nov. 16, 2007
SEATTLE - FSN is the ultimate destination for Husky basketball fans that can't get enough of Lorenzo Romar's talented mix of young and veteran players competing this season. FSN promises to provide fans incredible access to the team with at least 17 live Husky games, College Hoops Northwest before and after games, and the Huskies All Access weekly show featuring Coach Romar.
The 17-game schedule is a combination of local and national FSN telecasts that includes can't-miss games such as the Huskies vs. Washington State on January 5th, at USC on January 12th, and a battle with last year's Pac-10 champion UCLA on February 10th.
FSN's local telecasts feature a broadcast team the looks familiar to Northwest college basketball fans. Brian Davis, the host of FSN's Sonics telecasts, will return to call the play-by-play alongside former Sonics head coach and current Sonics Live studio analyst Bob Weiss. Davis has been a part of FSN's extensive package of NBA and Pac-10 games since he arrived at the network in 2004 and Weiss' 40 years in the NBA as a player and coach provides him first-hand knowledge of the game from all perspectives.
College Hoops Northwest hosted by FSN's Angie Mentink will feature a panel of studio analysts including former NBA Head Coach Dwane Casey, former NBA guard Craig Ehlo, and former Sonics Head Coach and Pac-10 color analyst Bob Weiss. College Hoops Northwest will also bring fans up-to-the-minute stats and information before and after local college basketball games this season.
Huskies All Access featuring Head Coach Lorenzo Romar gives fans an inside look at what is key for upcoming games as well as unprecedented access to Husky players taking them inside UW's program for a perspective on the team you can't get anywhere else.
A television partner with the Huskies since 1989, FSN and UW announced a six-year agreement in 2006 that provides FSN Northwest the exclusive rights to all event and ancillary programming for the football and men's basketball programs. The partnership will result in nine live football games on FSN in 2007, more than ever before on the network, and now a minimum of 17 live basketball telecasts on FSN this season.
FSN Northwest is the cable home of the Seattle Mariners, Seattle SuperSonics, Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Storm, Washington Huskies, Washington State Cougars, Oregon State Beavers and Gonzaga Bulldogs. The region reaches more than 3.4 million cable homes in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
