SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Washington men's soccer battled to a 1-1 double-overtime draw with San Diego State in both teams' regular season finale at the SDSU Sports Deck in San Diego, Sunday afternoon.

With postseason hopes riding on these last few results for the Huskies, UW tallied its second-straight tie and finished the regular season with an overall record of 8-7-4, 3-4-3 in Pac-10 play. The Aztecs, another NCAA Tournament hopeful, finished their season with the identical overall record of 8-7-4 and 4-4-2 in league action.

The Huskies finished up their slate with just one loss in their last five matches, going 2-1-2 which included a 2-2 double-overtime draw versus Oregon State on Wednesday.

The Huskies went up early with a goal from junior midfielder Raphael Cox in just the fourth minute of the match after receiving a pass from freshman forward Ellis McLoughlin. UW held on to sustain a lead through the first half and almost 15 minutes into the second half until surrendering the equalizer from SDSU's Kraig Chiles in the 59th minute. Chiles knocked in a rebound off the post past UW redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Stephen Fung to tie the score 1-1.

Both teams had two shots on goal during the two 10 minute overtime periods, with the Huskies getting two chances in the second overtime. But neither team could find the golden goal. Fung tallied four saves on San Diego State's 11 shots, while his counterpart Jorge Rosales grabbed a pair of saves on the Huskies' seven shots.

'Our best 20 minutes of the game were the last 20 minutes,' UW head coach Dean Wurzberger said. 'We were absolutely dynamite in overtime, we showed a second wind and we showed tactical awareness. I'm really proud of the way we played and we are hopeful for a continuation of our season.'

Six different Husky players accounted for UW's seven shots, with Cox being the only player to take more than one. Chiles led SDSU with three shots.

UW will now wait to learn its postseason fate when the announcement of the 48-team NCAA Tournament field takes place on ESPNews, Monday, Nov. 19, between 2:30 and 3 p.m. PT.
