ASU Wrestling Visits Crossroads Youth Intervention in Phoenix

Nov. 22, 2007

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State University wrestling team visited the Crossroads Youth Intervention's Liberty House in Phoenix Wednesday night, interacting with more than 50 children while distributing food and candy to those in attendance. Established to reach out to thousands of inner-city youth in the downtown area, Crossroads reaches out to troubled youth and sets standards that inspire spiritual growth, personal achievement and stimulate positive choices.

The team, along with Sparky, arrived at the center on McKinley Street in Phoenix and began interacting with the children, including playing soccer and sharing high-fives and smiles. The wrestlers then began autographing posters for the children while some also signed arms and hands. Later in the evening, the team assisted the leaders of Crossroads with handing out dinner to the children before also distributing candy.
