Nwachukwu Named to Freshman All-America Team

Nov. 28, 2007

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State University defensive back Chima Nwachukwu was named Scout.com Freshman All-America honorable mention, it was announced recently.

Nwachukwu, a native of Allen, Texas, started all 12 games for WSU this season. The 5-foot-11, 189-pound true freshman finished sixth on the team in tackles with 73 stops (48 solo). Nwachukwu also intercepted one pass, recorded five pass break-ups and forced a fumble.

Nwachukwu's selection marks the second straight year with a Cougar on the Scout.com list, as center Kenny Alfred earned second team honors in 2006.
