Gibson Highlights Three Cougars on All-Pac-10 Team

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State University junior wide receiver Brandon Gibson was one of three Cougars to earn All-Pacific-10 Conference accolades, Wednesday.

Gibson, the conference's leading receiver this season, earned All-Pac-10 First Team honors. The Puyallup, Wash., native set the WSU single-season record in receiving yardage with 1,180 yards, and finished tied for second on the school's all-time list for receptions in a single season with 67.

Senior tight end Jed Collins and sophomore linebacker Andy Mattingly were also honored for their accomplishments this season, each earning second team honors.

Collins hauled in a WSU single-season tight end record 52 passes for 512 yards and three touchdowns. The native of Mission Viejo, Calif., caught a career-high 10 passes against both Arizona and Stanford.

Mattingly, from Spokane, Wash., finished the season with 91 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, eight sacks, four forced fumbles, four pass break-ups, three quarterback hurries and an interception. His four sacks and five tackles for loss against Arizona State rank tied for second all-time in a single game in school history. All of his sacks and tackles for loss came in conference play, where he ranks eighth and tied for 16th, respectively, entering the final weekend of Pac-10 play.
