MBB Hosts Stanford Sunday In Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series

BOULDER - The University of Colorado men's basketball team plays at home for only the third this season at the Coors Events Center, hosting the Stanford University Cardinal, Sunday, Dec. 2, 2 p.m.

The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

The Buffaloes and the Cardinal are part of the inaugural Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series beginning this season between the two respective conferences. The two conferences have agreed to play a four-year men's basketball series of 12 annual games between the two leagues that runs through 2010. The 2008 series will be return games of the match ups from 2007. All 12 contests in 2007 will be televised nationally by either FSN or the ESPN family of networks.

Next season, Colorado will travel to Stanford.

CU (5-2) enters the game on a three-game winning streak with back-to-back road victories at Denver and Air Force. The two-straight road wins are a school-first since the 1998-99 season when the Buffaloes defeated Baylor and Texas Tech consecutively during Big 12 Conference play.

The Buffaloes are led by a one-two senior punch, Richard Roby and Marcus Hall. In his last four games, since scoring 20 points at Wisconsin, Roby is averaging 18.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. From the floor, the San Bernardino, Calif. native is 28-of-49 (.571) from the field and 12-of-15 (.800) from the free throw line.

Hall in three games played is averaging 19.0 points and 3.3 rebounds and steals per game. The Houston, Texas native is shooting 18-of-33 (.546) from the field, 13-of-16 (.813) from the charity stripe and averaging 38 minutes a game.

Stanford (7-1) has won seven of eight games (six wins at home) and averaging 80.2 points per game. The Cardinal also presents a strong frontline with 10 of 14 its players, 6'5GÇ¥ or taller.

CU is 3-5 all-time against Stanford having last played in 1991. The Buffs last matched up against a Pac-10 school during the 2004-05 season falling at Oregon State, Dec. 4 (98-87). CU is 39-38 (.506) against the Pac-10.
