Pontiac Announces Finalists For Game Changing Performance Of The Year

DETROIT - Pontiac and the NCAA® are challenging college football fans to determine the 'Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year' - the first and only fan-voted scholarship award in the history of the NCAA.

Every week, four 'Pontiac Game Changing Performance' plays were selected by ESPN's GameDay Crew. Fans then went online to pontiac.com/ncaa to vote for their favorite play. The winning school received a $5,000 general scholarship contribution from Pontiac.

Now, 13 weeks of NCAA football have led us to this - 13 plays vying for the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year and a $100,000 scholarship contribution from Pontiac.

This year's finalists are:

Week 1: Appalachian State University

Week 2: Penn State University

Week 3: University of Alabama

Week 4: Louisiana State University

Week 5: Auburn University

Week 6: Stanford University

Week 7: University of Kentucky

Week 8: Louisiana State University

Week 9: Trinity University

Week 10: Louisiana State University

Week 11: Mississippi State University

Week 12: Indiana University

Week 13: University of Arkansas

Once again, it is up to the fans to determine which school receives the ultimate $100,000 scholarship contribution by voting at pontiac.com/ncaa. Each week the three plays that receive the lowest total votes will be eliminated until the top four finalists are announced on December 20.

Voting for the top four will take us to the BCS Championship game on January 7, where the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year and winner of the one hundred thousand dollars will be announced on FOX.

'The 'Pontiac Game Changing Performance' program focuses on recognizing the most dramatic and crucial moments in NCAA athletic competition,' said Chris Hornberger, Pontiac National Advertising Manager. 'And with the help of the NCAA and our network partners, Pontiac once again is helping fans experience the game as never before by encouraging teams, schools and their supporters to rally together to put their team on top.'

In addition, for the next five weeks one lucky individual, who visits pontiac.com/ncaa, will win a $15,000 scholarship for themselves or their family. In total, Pontiac will provide $300,000 worth of scholarships to universities and individuals throughout the season.

'Pontiac has created a successful program that has a positive impact academically and athletically. Teams get deserved recognition for their accomplishments and all students have an opportunity to benefit from the general scholarship fund, so it's a win-win situation,' said Kirk Herbstreit, ESPN GameDay Analyst.
