Arizona State's Micky Benedetti and UCLA's Marisa Samaniego Named Pac-10 Divers of the Month.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - ARIZONA STATE's men's diver Micky Benedetti and UCLA's women's diver Marisa Samaniego have been named Pac-10 Divers of the Month for November, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Benedetti, a junior from Rome, Italy, won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives in dual meets against Utah on Nov. 9 and USC on Nov. 10. Not only did Benedetti place first in his dives, but he also submitted NCAA qualifying dives in every event in the month of November. Against the Trojans, Benedetti improved his season-best scores with 390.00 in the 1-meter and 434.55 in the 3-meter.

This is the third monthly honor for Benedetti and ASU's sixth men's Diver of the Month all-time.

Samaniego, a junior from Altadena, Calif., has notched wins in six of eight boards she has competed on. At the Trojan Diving Invite, Samaniego won the 3-meter with a 288.70 and got second place on the 1-meter with a 270.95. Against Arizona State and Arizona, she swept the competition winning the 1-meter and the 3-meter. Samaniego then notched another win at the Hoosierland Invite on the 3-meter with a season-best 310.10 and finished second on the 1-meter. She has finished no worse than second place in any meet thus far in the season.

This is the first monthly honor for Samaniego and UCLA's fifth women's Diver of the Month all-time.
