Weber and Bolden Earn Freshman All-American Honors From College Football News

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University football student-athletes Thomas Weber and Omar Bolden have been named to the Freshman All-American Team, the website has announced. Weber was named the First-Team kicker while Bolden was named a Second-Team cornerback.

Weber, a redshirt freshman from Downey, Calif., set an ASU record by making the first 17 field goal attempts of his career. The Groza Award finalist is 22-23 on field goals, including a 53-yarder and the game-winner against Washington State. He is the Pac-10's leading scorer, averaging 9.0 points per game.

Bolden, from Ontario, Calif., finished the regular season with 28 tackles and an interception, which he returned 29 yards for a touchdown against Stanford.

The Co-Pacific-10 Conference Champion Sun Devils will take on the Texas Longhorns in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl on December 27 in San Diego, California at 5 p.m. on ESPN.
