Stanford Now Set To Open 2008 Season Versus Oregon State

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford is now scheduled to open its 2008 football season versus Oregon State after the Pac-10 announced changes to several games on the 2008 conference schedule Wednesday. The season-opening game between the Cardinal and the Beavers will be held at Stanford Stadium on either Thursday, August 28 or Saturday, August 30. The contest had been originally scheduled for Saturday, October 25.

The remainder of Stanford's 2008 home football schedule includes games versus San Jose State (September 20), Arizona (October 11), Washington State (November 1) and USC (November 15).

Stanford is scheduled to play on the road in 2008 at Arizona State (September 6), TCU (September 13), Washington (September 27), Notre Dame (October 4), UCLA (October 18), Oregon (November 8) and California (November 22).

Stanford is coming off a promising 2007 campaign under first-year head coach Jim Harbaugh that included victories over both USC and California.
