Washington's Jon Brockman Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - WASHINGTON forward Jon Brockman has beennamed the U.S. Bank Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player ofthe Week for Dec. 17-23, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Brockman, a junior from Snohomish, Wash., led the Huskies to a pairof wins last week, averaging 22.5 points and 11.0 rebounds. In the84-65 win over Portland State, Brockman shot 11-of-13 (.846) from thefield in scoring 24 points, while pulling down 12 rebounds andpicking up a pair of steals. In the 80-66 win over Cal StateNorthridge, he tallied 21 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Forthe week, Brockman shot 19-of-25 (.760) from teh field and 7-of-11 (.636) from the free throw line

Brockman collected his fifth and sixth double-doubles of the seasonand now has 24 for his career. For the year, he is averaging a double-double with 18.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game.

This is the third weekly honor for Brockman and Washington's 31stPlayer of the Week all-time.
