Zalameda Takes Two Titles in Indian Wells

Indian Wells, Calif. - UCLA's Riza Zalameda wrapped up the National Collegiate Tennis Classic in impressive fashion on Sunday, asthe Bruin senior won both the singles and doubles titles at what isannually one of the most prestigious events in the country.

Zalameda, listed at No. 25 in the latest Intercollegiated TennisAssociation singles rankings, defeated 58th ranked Carolyn McVeigh ofStanford, 6-2, 6-3 in Sunday's singles final. That win earns Zalameda aqualifying wild card into the WTA Tour's Pacific Life Open, March 10 and11, also in Indian Wells.

Following her singles win, Zalameda then teamed with fellow senior TracyLin to capture the doubles championship at the NCTC, as the duo defeatedUSC's Amanda Fink/Gabriela Niculescu, 8-6.

UCLA opens up the 2008 dual match season tomorrow, hosting Cal Polyat the Los Angeles Tennis Center beginning at 1:30 p.m.
