Robles, ASU Wrestling Faces Oregon State at Mesa High School Friday

Jan. 22, 2008

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State University wrestling team will compete in a pair of home Pac-10 Conference duals this weekend as the Oregon schools visit the Valley of the Sun. The Sun Devils open the weekend on Friday night at 7 p.m. when they face the Oregon State Beavers (6-5, 3-2 Pac-10) in a dual at Mesa High School and concludes Sunday with a 2 p.m. dual against the Oregon Ducks (9-7, 0-4 Pac-10) inside Wells Fargo Arena.

While the dual with Oregon State on Friday night will take place at Mesa High School, it is still a home dual for the Sun Devils and a true `home' dual for one wrestler in particular as Anthony Robles (125 pounds) returns to the school he competed for and graduated from. Robles, who is 16-6 on the year and ranked No. 16 nationally, compiled a career record of 129-15 at Mesa High, including records of 48-0 as a junior and senior on his way to a pair of Arizona state titles. The former Jackrabbit also won the 2006 High School Senior Nationals.
