A native of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Bemis ranked on the Cougar single-season lists in wins (third, 11), minutes (third, 1,765), saves (ninth, 80), and goals against average (ninth, 1.02). She ranks on WSU career lists in shutouts (third, 11), goals against average (third, 0.87), wins (fourth, 18), minutes (fourth, 3,211), winning percentage (fifth, .618), and saves (fifth, 150).
Bemis started all 19 matches and played every minute for WSU with the exception of the second half of a 4-0 win at Idaho. She was in net for wins over No. 18 Oklahoma State and national champion USC and helped the Cougars post an 11-5-3 record, the second-highest winning percentage (.658) in school history.
Sophomore Kiersten Dallstream won the team's offensive award and senior Allison Scurich took home the defensive honor. Dallstream, a sophomore from Fountain Hills, Ariz., led the Cougars with 10 goals and 24 points, tied for eighth and tied for 10th, respectively, on the WSU single-season lists. Her three game-winning goals tied for seventh on the Cougar single-season list. The forward was a first team All-Pacific-10 Conference selection in 2007. Scurich, a senior from Laguna Niguel, Calif., tallied four goals, including a game-winner, and added two assists. The defender was named honorable mention All-Pac-10 during her final campaign as a Cougar.
Washington State student-athletes were also recognized for their performance in the classroom. Led by senior Brooke Bemis's first-team selection, 15 Cougars received Pacific-10 Conference academic accolades. Bemis was also named ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District VIII All-Academic First Team.
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award was presented to the Cougars last fall, marking the third time in four years Washington State has garnered the honor.
