WAIKOLOA VILLAGE, Hawaii - Sophomore Nick Taylor shot a final-round score of 2-under 68 to finish in a three-way way for fifth place at the UH-Hilo Intercollegiate at the Waikoloa Village Golf Course, Friday. As a team, the Huskies finished in a tie for sixth place with Oregon State.

The Huskies finished the three-day tournament at 8-under 832 after carding a final-round score of 2-over 282. UW tied with Oregon State and ended up three strokes behind fifth-place Texas Tech (11-under 829).

Stanford took home the team title at 27-under 813, followed by Arizona State and USC which tied for runner-up honors at 24-under 816.

Taylor led the Huskies from start to finish, carding rounds of 3-under 67, 4-under 66 and 2-under 68. Taylor tied for fifth with defending NCAA champion Jamie Lovemark of USC and Rory Hie also of USC. All three finished the tournament at 9-under 201.

Husky senior Zach Bixler shot 3-over 73 in the final round and finished in a tie for 23rd at 1-under 209. Bixler carded a 1-under 69 and a 3-under 67 during the first two rounds, respectively.

Other Huskies competing were sophomore Darren Wallace who tied for 53rd at 5-over 215, and freshman Tze Huang Choo and junior John Wise who tied for 57th at 6-over 216.

Arizona State's Jesper Kennegard won medalist honors, finishing the tournament at 13-under 197. Kennegard carded rounds of 2-under 68, 7-under 63 and 4-under 66.
