O'Hara and Noyola Lead U-20's to Four Nations Championship
Feb. 16, 2008
Cardinal sophomore Kelley O'Hara scored twice in the U.S. U-20 National Team's 5-1 victory over Chile in the championship match of the Four Nations Tournament. It was the third victory in a row for the U.S after defeating England 1-0 and Norway 2-1 earlier in the week.
O'Hara scored the first goal from six yards out on a pass from teammate Nikki Marshall to give the U.S. a 1-0 lead. O'Hara later scored in the 57th minute of the match, which pushed the Cardinal lead to 3-0. The match was played in Le Serne, Chile in front of over 8,000 fans.
In the other two matches the U.S. was led by future Cardinal midfielder Teresa Noyola ('12), who scored the game-winning goal in the two other victories. In the England natch she scored in the 45th minute from eight yards out for the only goal of the match. In the match against Norway, Noyola cut past a defender and found the net from 10 yards away. Noyola was the youngest player on the roster.
