With the Pac-10 title on the line, No. 8/8 California (23-3 overall, 14-1 Pac-10, 1st) faces No. 7/7 Stanford (24-3, 13-2, 2nd) Saturday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. at Haas Pavilion in part 2 of Battle of the Bay. The Golden Bears hold a one-game lead in the Pac-10 race over Stanford with three games to play and are in search of their first-ever Pac-10 crown, while Stanford has won the last seven regular-season Pac-10 titles and 16 overall.

Cal takes a 16-game home winning streak and six-game overall winning streak into Saturday's final Kids' Day. Youth 12th grade and under will be admitted for $1 and fun activities are scheduled for outside Haas Pavilion beginning at 11:30 a.m. The first 500 youth will receive a Cal team puzzle.

Before the game, Cal will honor forward Krista Foster, the team's only senior. Foster is a captain this season and is known for her heart and hustle on the team.

Cal is in the midst of a banner season - one that the players and coaches will look back upon and take note of the numerous record and outstanding statistical accomplishments they have assembled. The Bears are win one win away from matching the 1983-84 Bears (24-8) for the most wins in a season in school history, and this year's team's 14 Pac-10 wins have already surpassed the previous school record by two.

Defense and rebounding have been Cal's forte this season. The Bears boast one of the best defenses in the nation, ranking sixth in scoring defense (52.8 ppg) and fourth in field goal percentage defense (34.0%), which both rank first in the Pac-10 and are on track to shatter Cal's current school records.

Cal also ranks 11th in the nation and first in the conference in rebounding margin (+8.5 rpg). The Bears have outrebounded 21 of 26 opponents this season and are undefeated in those games.

Junior forward/center Ashley Walker ranks among the top five in the conference in seven categories, including first in rebounding (+9.4 rpg) and offensive rebounds (3.96 rpg), second in blocks (1.58 bpg) and third in scoring (16.0 rpg). Junior forward/center Devanei Hampton is second on the team in scoring (13.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.9 rpg) and has posted double-doubles in the last three games and four of the last five contests. Junior guard Alexis Gray-Lawson is third on the team in scoring (11.9 ppg) and is second in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (40.5%).

Sophomore guard Natasha Vital is averaging 10.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg and 5.5 apg over the last six contests since the Bears last faced Stanford. Vital dished off a career-high 12 assists in Cal's last win over Arizona.
