WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- ARIZONA STATE junior forward Lauren Lacey has been named the U.S. Bank Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 18-24, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Lacey, a native of Olympia Fields, Ill., led Arizona State to a sweep of the Washington schools, averaging 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds as the Sun Devils look to gain momentum heading into the last week of the regular season.

The junior opened the weekend with 12 points, four rebounds and added a steal and an assist while helping the Arizona State defense hold Washington State to the fewest points ever scored in a Pac-10 game (30).

On Saturday, Lacey had her virtuoso performance of the season as she tallied 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting, adding 11 rebounds and a pair of steals and assists. The point total, as well as the number of field goals, was the most by any Sun Devil this year. Of players in the Pac-10 who have taken as many shots in a game this season, only Stanford sophomore Jayne Appel's 12-of-13 performance against Oregon State was better.

Currently ASU's leading scorer, averaging 12.9 points per game, Lacey has scored in double figures in 20 of 27 games. She also sits eighth in the Pac-10 in scoring, 12th in rebounding (6.0 rpg), and sixth in field goal pct. (.498).

Arizona State looks to close out the season strong and solidify a high seed in the Pac-10 Tournament as it travels to Los Angeles to take on UCLA on Thurs., Feb 28 at 7 p.m. and USC on Sat., March 1 at 11 a.m.

The Player of the Week honor is the first of Lacey's career and the 32nd for the Sun Devils all-time.
