Russell Brown Earns Spot On World Indoor Team

Stanford senior Russell Brown earned a spot on the U.S. World Indoor Team with a second place finish in the 1,500 meters at the AT&T USA Indoor Championships. Racing at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, Mass., Brown finished in a time of 3:41.20, earning himself a trip to Valencia, Spain.
The 1,500 meters was won by Rob Myers of Reebok in a time of 3:40.89. Just behind him was Brown, who held off Michigan State alumnus Steve Sherer for second place. Also, in the race were Stanford alumnus Grant Robison, who finished fifth with a time of 3:42.81, and Gabe Jennings, who finished ninth with a time of 3:44.25.
Brown will return to the track for the outdoor season this spring to complete his collegiate career on The Farm. Brown is a three time outdoor NCAA All-American, five time indoor NCAA All-American, Cross Country NCAA All-American, and defending indoor NCAA Champion in the Distance Medley Relay.
