Kyle Shackleton, Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams Earn All-Academic Accolades

Senior Kyle Shackleton and both the men's and women's cross country teams have been honored by the U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their work in the classroom and on the course during the Fall 2007 season.
Shackleton, who is majoring in Business/Economics, was named to the All-Academic team after compiling a cumulative GPA of 3.816. The senior was 22nd at the Pac-10 meet, placed 18th at the West Region Championships to earn All-West Region honors, and competed at the NCAA Championships as well.
An individual honoree had to place in the top-15 or top 10% of their respective NCAA regional meet and post a GPA of 3.25 or higher to be eligible for the All-Academic team.
As a whole, the men were also honored as an All-Academic team as a large squad of 19 student-athletes joined together for a team GPA of 3.025. The Bruins had 10 men average a 3.20 or higher, and five with a GPA over 3.50.
The women's team also earned All-Academic honors as 12 student-athletes tallied an average GPA of 3.142.
