No. 6 Men's Tennis Overpowers UC Santa Barbara, 6-1

LOS ANGELES - Playing its first dual match since the USTA/ITA National Team Indoors, the sixth-ranked UCLA men's tennis team looked strong it its non-conference showdown with UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday, taking a 6-1 victory at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
After posting three straight wins in doubles play, the Bruins (8-1) managed to take five of six singels matches to claim the victory. Bruin freshman Ahmed Ismail got his first taste of dual-match play on Wednesday, as he recorded a 6-4, 6-3 win over Eric Lee at the No. 6 position. UCLA went ahead 3-0 not long after, as senior Mathieu Dehaine, ranked No. 25 nationally, posted a 6-3, 6-0 decision against Alexander Konigsfeldt at court No. 3.
Junior Michael Look clinched the match for the Bruins with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Jack Hui at court No. 4. The Bruins also had straight-set wins from Holden Seguso (court No. 2) and Harel Srugo (court No. 1).
UCSB (3-3) got its lone point on the afternoon at court No. 5, where Josh Finkelstein was a 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 winner over Bruin senior Jeremy Drean. The loss was Drean's first this season in dual-match play, as he is now 8-1.
UCLA players will be competing at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships this weekend. The Bruins' next dual match will be against No. 24 Rice on March 5 at 1:30 p.m. That match will be at UCLA's Los Angeles Tennis Center.
