Although the Huskies dropped their ninth meet of the season tonight at 18th-ranked Arizona, Washington continued to make strides. The Huskies scored a 194.525, their second-highest total of the season and their best mark on the road this year. UW also tallied a season-high 49.200 team score on floor, besting their previous high mark of 48.525. In addition, junior Ashley Houghting (Welland, Ont.) won two events and finished in second place on her third event.

The Wildcats were fresh off their only home loss of the season last week against #9 UCLA, but finished tonight with a 196.300-194.525 victory over the Huskies at the McKale Center.

Houghting made a strong showing for Washington tonight, scoring wins on vault and floor and finishing second on beam. She finished with a 9.9 on vault, followed by four Wildcats who tied for second with a 9.85. Freshman Haley Bogart (Woodside, Calif.), who posted the third-highest score on the event, took sixth place.

On bars, senior Raimey Iselin (Lake Tapps, Wash.) matched her season-best 9.8 to finish in third place. The Huskies had a tough night on beam, but Houghting scored a 9.825 to tie for second place.

The high point of the night came on floor, as the Huskies scores a 49.200 - the highest Washington total on floor since the Huskies posted a 49.725 at Cal State Fullerton on Jan. 7, 2005. Houghting led the way with a season-best 9.95 to capture first place, while freshman Samantha Walior (Prior Lake, Minn.) notched a career-best 9.9 to tie for third place.

Freshman Karen Cain (Kyle, Texas) added a third-place finish in the all-around with a 38.750.

The Huskies will be back on the road next week, as they travel to Baton Rouge, La., to face off against No. 8 LSU. The squads will compete on Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m. (CT) at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
