This Week - The Washington State University tennis team (10-3 overall, 0-2 Pac-10), ranked No. 44 (ITA) nationally, will travel to the No. 11 UCLA Bruins (9-4 overall, 2-2 Pac-10) Friday March, 3 at 1:30 p.m. and No. 11 USC (9-3 overall, 3-1 Pac-10) Saturday March, 8 at noon. in Los Angeles, Calif...UCLA and USC are tied at No. 11 in the ITA rankings.

Upcoming Matches - UCLA holds the all-time advantage of 13-1 against the Cougars...last time the two teams squared off, March 3, 2007, UCLA defeated the Cougars, 7-0, in Pullman...UCLA has posted a 9-4 record so far this their most recent match they fell to No. 8 California 4-3...The Bruins are led by three players ranked in the top 50, No. 10 Riza Zalameda, Andrea Remynse ranked No. 27 and Yasmin Schnack is ranked No. 40...No. 11 USC leads that all-time series 14-0...the last time the two teams met, USC defeated the Cougar 7-0.

Last week - The Cougars faced off with the No. 46 Oregon Ducks in a nonconference match...behind the play of freshman Jessica Gomez who clinched the match with a victory over Siobhan Cavan, 6-4, 7-6 (7-1), the Cougars defeated the Ducks 4-3...senior Aleksandra Stefanova picked up her 13th win of the season as she defeated Anna Powaska in straight sets 6-3, 6-4... The Cougars have now won two of the last three meetings with Oregon.

History Watch - Senior Ekaterina Burduli grabbed a victory on Friday over Celine Rolly of Oregon 6-3, 6-3...Burduli pushed her season record to 22-4 with a winning percentage of .846 which is best on the team...she also improved to 11-2 in dual match play and boasts a 12-9 record in doubles play...with the win Burduli has 85 career singles victories, which is second all-time and just two away from career leader Erica Perkins.

Freshman Power - Jessica Gomez has produced a 13-6 record and has gone 7-2 in dual match play at the No. 6 spot...has become one of the most consistent players on the team and clinched winning point in 4-3 victories for the Cougars over Nevada, Boise State and most recently, Oregon.

Rankings - The Washington State tennis team has jumped out to a 10-3 record in dual match play...WSU currently has a team ranking of No. 44 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association ...Burduli is still holding onto the No. 91 spot in singles play.

UCSB - The Cougars will continue play against UCSB, March 10, at 1:30 p.m...the Cougars hold a 2-1 all-time record against the Gauchos.
