Huskies To Compete In UNLV Spring Invite

SEATTLE - Washington women's golf will travel to Boulder City, Nev., for the 2008 UNLV Spring Invite, Monday, March 10, through Wednesday, March 12.

The three-day, 54-hole event will be held at the par-72, 6, 204-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club. Joining the Huskies in the 18-team field will be BYU, Indiana, Washington State, Texas Tech, Oregon, San Francisco, UC Davis, Idaho, Campbell, Kansas State, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, New Mexico State, Long Beach State, Sacramento State and host UNLV.

Washington's lineup for the tournament will feature sophomore Christina Yoon, sophomore Molly Aronsson, freshman Nicole Ferrero, freshman Anya Alvarez, and freshman Katie Saucier.

BYU is the defending team champion, winning last year's event with a score of 17-under 847. Kelly Nakashima of Idaho and Jennifer Shipley of Fresno State won medalist honors last year.

The Huskies are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Spartan Invitational in San Jose this past week. Yoon led UW with a career-best fourth-place finish, while Ferrero also placed in the top-10 in seventh.
