TEMPE, Ariz. - Top ranked Arizona State shook off a slow start and a mid-game deficit to come back and knock off UMass 13-4 at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark. Reyes Dorado earned his first career victory, coming out of the bullpen to help ASU improve to 10-0 on the year.

Brett Wallace got the scoring started in the third inning, homering to right field for his fifth dinger of the year and a 1-0 Sun Devil lead. It was short-lived however, as the Minutemen scored three times of starter Josh Satow in the third to take a 3-1 lead. Satow lasted four innings, allowing three runs on five hits while fanning six.

The Sun Devil tied things up in the fifth, capitalizing on two walks and a hit batsmen when Ike Davis hit a bases loaded double with two away. Wallace and Petey Paramore would score to even things at 3-3.

Arizona State pulled ahead for good in the sixth, when Paramore drove in two with a single to right center to make it 5-3. ASU pushed it to 6-3 when Brett Wallace scored from third after an errant pickoff attempt at first base.

The Minutemen would threaten in the eighth, scoring an unearned run before Tommy Rafferty worked out of a jam to end the inning. The Devils would explode in the bottom of the eighth, scoring seven times to stretch the lead to 13-4. Jason Kipnis started the barrage by drawing a bases loaded walk that scored Raoul Torrez. Jason Jarvis then cleared the bases with a double to left center. He came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Sontag. Rocky Laguna capped off the scoring, sending a blast to right field for a two-run homer, his first of the year. Arizona State has scored 14 runs in the bottom of the eighth inning over their last three games.

Reyes Dorado threw two innings of scoreless ball, striking out four to pick up his first win at ASU. Petey Paramore was 2-2 with two RBI, two runs scored and three walks. Brett Wallace homered and was walked three times, twice intentionally, scoring four runs. Raoul Torrez was 2-4 and Ike Davis, Rocky Laguna and Jason Jarvis all had multi-RBI efforts.

The Devils face UMass on Saturday night in Tempe, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. from Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark.
