UCLA Clinches Pac-10 Regular Season Title

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- UCLA captured its third consecutive Pac-10 regular season title, and 30th league title overall, to claim the top seed at the Pacific Life Pac-10 Tournament which begins Wednesday, March 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
STANFORD will be the Pac-10's No. 2 seed in the Tournament. WASHINGTON STATE follows with the No. 3 seed as the Cougars tied USC for third, but took the No. 3 seed based on sweeping the Trojans this season.
ARIZONA STATE, which finished last a year ago, is seeded No. 5 as it holds the tie-breaker over OREGON, the No. 6 seed. The top six seeds will not begin Pac-10 Tournament play until Thursday, March 13.
The Tournament will officially get underway Wednesday, March 12 with No. 8 WASHINGTON vs. No. 9 CALIFORNIA at 6:00 p.m. PT, followed by No. 7 ARIZONA vs. No. 10 OREGON STATE at 8:30 p.m. PT.
This marks the seventh year of the Pacific Life Pac-10 Tournament. Arizona won the the postseason tournament in 2002, followed by Oregon in 2003, Stanford in 2004, Washington in 2005, UCLA in 2006, and Oregon in 2007.
