Sophomore Belen Mozo posted a top 15 finish for the sixth time this season while senior Paola Moreno finished in the top 20 to pace the No. 3USC women's golf team on the final day of the 2008 UCF Challenge at RedTail G.C. in Sorrento, Fla., on Tuesday (March 11).
USC finished fifth at 4-over 868 (281-294-293), 17 back of top-ranked Duke, which won with an 851. Purdue was second (860) while UCLA and Florida tied for third (863). Moreno and freshman Lizette Salas were Troy's top players on Tuesday, each carding a 1-under 71. Moreno finished tied for 18th at 1-over 217 (70-76-71), her final round sporting five birdies. It marked her third top 20 finish, all three of which have come in the past four events in which she's played.
Salas tied for 27th at 3-over 219 (73-75-71) with a steady round that saw two birdies against just one bogey.
USC returns to action at the Ping/ASU Invitational, April 4-6, at the Karsten G.C. in Phoenix, Ariz.
