No. 15 Sun Devils Earn 11th Straight Win

The No. 15 Arizona State men's tennis team increased their perfect record to 11-0 with a 5-2 win over No. 40 Georgia Tech. This is ASU's best start since the 1979 season when they went 14-0.

The Sun Devils swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The No. 31 ranked duo of T.J. Bellama and Matt Brooklyn won a tough 9-8 match in the No. 1 spot. In the No. 2 position, the team of Andres Arango and Harry Skinner defeated George Gvelesiani and Guillermo Gomez 8-4. Wes Miller and John Nanosky II took their match against Doug Kenny and Eliot Potvin 8-3 in the No. 3 position.

In singles action, the Sun Devils won four of their six matches. Playing in the No. 2 position for the first time this season, Pac-10 Player of the Week Juan Carlos Rebaza dropped his second set after the taking the first one, but went on to win 6-3, 6-7, 6-3. Skinner took his No. 3 singles match in straight sets, defeating Ryan Smith 6-3, 6-3.

Bellama took his match in the No. 5 slot. He defeated Miguel Muguruza in straight sets, winning 6-1, 6-1. Nanosky kept his singles record perfect, defeating Austin Roebuck 6-3, 6-2. Andres Arango dropped his No. 1 singles match to Gomez 6-2, 6-2. Miller fell 6-1, 6-4 to Potvin.

The Sun Devils travel to rival Arizona on March 22, 2008.
