UW Softball Rained Out on Saturday

March 15, 2008

PORTLAND, Ore. - Washington's softball game against Mississippi Valley State, scheduled for today (Saturday, March 15) at 1:00 p.m., has been cancelled due to rain.

The Huskies will continue play in the Cascade Clash with a doubleheader against Utah State, starting at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow.

Washington (17-6-1) was a 4-1 winner over Northern Illinois last night in a game that was stopped after five innings due to rain and poor field conditions at Erv Lind Stadium.

Ashlyn Watson hit a two-run home run, her third of the season, and Alicia Blake went 3-for-3 to lead the Huskies offensively. Caitlin Noble pitched all five innings, allowing six hits and striking out four to improve to 10-3 on the season.

Live audio of Sunday's doublheader will be available at GoHuskies.com
