Women's Golf Sit in Third After First Two Rounds of Duck Invitational

EUGENE, ORE. - Led by junior Amy Eneroth, the Washington State University women's golf team sits in third place after the first day of play at the Duck Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon, Monday.

The Cougars held the third place position all day as they carded a total score of 612 at the par-72, 6,052-yard Eugene Country Club. The Cougars head into the final day of competition only six stokes from the lead.

Eneroth fired back-to-back even par rounds to finish the day in second place with a total score of 144. Junior Jessica Black started the tournament tied for 11th and cruised up eight places after an even par second round. Black currently sits in third place after carding a two-round total of 147 (+3).

Sophomore Diana Hong inked a total score of 160 and senior Brooke Henderson finished the first day close behind after carding a 161. Senior Tracy Broders shot a 166 to round out the Cougar contingent.

Sophomore Haley Parsons, playing as an individual, carded a 165.

The Cougars ended the first round of play with a score of 304, which is the fourth lowest round of the tournament thus far.

The women hope to make a run for the lead as the third and final round action begins at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday.
