WALNUT CREEK, CALIF. -- Four Huskies, led by first-team selection Emily Florence, were selected to the 2008 Pac-10 All-Academic Team for women's basketball, conference commissioner Tom Hansen announced Wednesday.
Florence, a senior point guard from Boise, Idaho, has a 3.41 cumulative grade point average and is majoring in communications. The nod is the third Pac-10 All-Academic honor for Florence, who was an honorable mention selection as a sophomore and junior.
Plouffe, a senior forward/center from Edmonton, Alberta, has a 3.33 cumulative gpa as a sociology major. Like Florence, this is Plouffe's third-straight Pac-10 All-Academic honor as she was also an honorable mention selection as a sophomore and junior.
Sophomore guards Sara Mosiman from Seattle, Wash., and Sami Whitcomb from Ventura, Calif., garnered their first career nods to the Pac-10 All-Academic squad on the honorable mention team. Mosiman has a 3.24 grade point average and is majoring in communication, while Whitcomb has a 3.55 grade point average and is majoring in history.
