Weaver Named CollegeHoops.net Honorable Mention All-American

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University senior Kyle Weaver has been named as an Honorable Mention All-American by CollegeHoops.net, the organization announced.

Earlier this season Weaver was named to the All-Pacific-10 First Team, Pacific-10 All-Defensive Team, U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Men's All-District IX Team and National Association of Basketball Coaches District 14 First Team.

In his senior season, Weaver was second on the team in scoring with 12.2 points per outing and led WSU in steals (60) and free throws made (126). He also ranked second on the team in rebounding (184) and assists (151). He led WSU in scoring seven times, rebounding eight times, assists 17 times, steals 19 times and blocked shots 13 times and had 23 double-figure scoring games (including the final six games of the season) and three 20-plus point games (the only three of his career).

Weaver closed out his WSU career ranking on WSU's all-time list in assists (second - 465), steals (third - 188), minutes played (third - 3,602), assists average (fifth - 3.84 per game), blocks (seventh - 93), steals average (eighth - 1.55 per game), rebounds (12th - 570), free throws made (12th - 315), blocks average (13th - 0.77 per game), free throw attempts (13th - 440) scoring (17th - 1,162 points) and field goals made (19th - 402). Earlier this season he became the 29th Cougar to score 1,000 career points and is believed to be the first student-athlete in Pac-10 history to have at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 450 assists, 175 steals and 75 blocked shots in a career.

The Cougars tied a school record with 26 wins this season, marking their second-straight 26-win season. WSU also made its first appearance in the `Sweet 16' of the NCAA Tournament, falling to the No. 1-ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina March 27.
