This Week - The Washington State University tennis team (11-8 overall, 0-5 Pac-10), ranked No. 40 (ITA) nationally, will host No. 15 Arizona State University, University of Arizona and Santa Clara, beginning Friday, April 4, at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse.

Upcoming Opponents - Arizona State holds a 14-0 all-time advantage against the Cougars...the last time the two teams met, Feb. 17, 2007, the Sun Devils posted a 7-0 victory over WSU...the University of Arizona has posted a 13-1 all-time record against the Cougars...the last time the two squads met, the Wildcats grabbed a 6-1 victory...WSU has been able to better Santa Clara in the past, as they hold a 5-1 overall advantage over Santa Clara...the two teams last met April 4, 2007 were WSU bettered the Broncos 6-1.

Last Week - The Cougars were on the road for a tough match up against the Oregon Ducks...this was the second match up with the Ducks this season...the first resulted in a 4-3 non-conference win for the Cougars...this time around the Ducks swept WSU 7-0...the victory earned Oregon a split of the season series against WSU...the Cougars now have an 11-8 over-all record in dual match play and are 0-5 in the Pac-10 so far this season.

History Watch - Senior Ekaterina Burduli continues her push for the all-time career singles victory record...Burduli has a season record of 23-8 with a winning percentage of .742 which is best on the team...she also boasts a 12-6 record in dual match play and has totaled a 14-11 record while paired with freshman counterpart Ekaterina Kamendova in doubles play...Burduli holds down the top stop in the line up in both singles and doubles for the Cougars...Burduli has 86 career singles victories, which is second all-time and just one away from career leader Erica Perkins.

Rankings -The Washington State tennis team has jumped out to an 11-8 record in dual match play...WSU currently has a team ranking of No. 41 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association ...Ekaterina Burduli holds onto a ranking of No. 55 according to the ITA tennis rankings.
