EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 1 Sun Devil Softball Team survived a Duck rally to keep their Pac-10 record unblemished and their winning streak going Friday afternoon in Eugene as they took a 3-2 win from Oregon. The Sun Devils are now 40-2 overall and 4-0 in Pac-10 play as Oregon falls to 25-15 and 0-4 in conference action.

The game started out as a vicious pitchers duel with both Katie Burkhart and Alicia Cook both worked their way out of runners in scoring position with one out in the first inning with both teams stranding two. The Sun Devils got to Cook in the third though as a lead-off single to Jackie Vasquez was brought around off smart baserunning and a bunt before a fielder's choice to Krista Donnenwirth brought her home and gave ASU the 1-0 lead.

ASU added to the tally in the fourth as well as a double from Katie Crabb to start the inning where Clarissa Andorfer-Lopez jumped in to pinch run where Rhiannon Baca bunted her to third before Jackie Vasquez came in to hit the 1-4-3 for an RBI as ASU rolled to a 2-0 lead.

The Ducks came back in the fifth though as they rattled off two doubles and two singles consecutively before Katie Burkhart took back the reigns to keep it tied at two apiece.

With the Ducks changing up pitchers Oregon put Melissa Rice in the circle where she held the Sun Devils through over an inning before Kaitlin Cochran stepped up to snap the tie with a huge solo shot to left center off of a 1-1 pitch for her ninth long ball of the season and place the score at its final resting spot of 3-2 as Burkhart finished out the seventh for her 21st win of the season.

The Sun Devils continue their Pac-10 road trip tomorrow as they head to Corvallis to take on the Oregon State Beavers at 1 p.m. PT.
