Kantola Wins 'B' Pole Vault At Texas Relays

Senior All-American Ingrid Kantola won the 'B' pole vault competition at the Texas Relays in Austin with a mark of 13-1.50 to highlight the Bruin competitors. The mark equals her season-best and was six inches better then her nearest competitor.

Junior Katy Viuf finished third with a clearance of 12-7.50, which equals her season-best.

At the Stanford Invitational, sophomore Krishna Curry ran a big lifetime-best of 2:10.27 to win the 'B' section of the 800m. That mark is less then a half second shy of the regional standard (2:09.80). Junior Gabrielle Bournes ran a season-best 2:12.69 to finish eighth overall, while sophomore Rosa Magana also tallied a season-best, placing 25th in a time of 2:16.56.

Competition continues on Saturday as Tori Anthony competes in the 'A' pole vault in Texas and the distance runners continue racing at the Stanford Invitational.
