Bruins Remain in Sixth Place Through Two Rounds

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team remained in sixth place following the second round of the PING/ASU Invitational at the Karsten Course in Tempe, Ariz.

The Bruins posted a team score of 296 (+8) for a 36-hole total of 590 (+14). They trailed first-place USC, which was seven-under par for the tournament at 569. Host Arizona State was second at 580 (+4), followed by Georgia at 582 (+6) and fourth-place Texas A & M at 583 (+7). Denver was fifth at 586 (+10).

Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Sydnee Michaels was tied for sixth place at 143 (-1), following an even par round of 72 on Saturday. Junior Tiffany Joh was tied for 13th at 145 (+1) after posting a score of 75 (+3). Freshman Glory Yang was tied for 36th at 149 (+5) following a round of 74 (+2) and captain Ryann O'Toole was 69th at 156 (+12) following a score of 75 (+3). Junior Maiya Tanaka was tied for 73rd at 158 (+14).

At the Kraft Nabisco Championship, UCLA freshman Maria Jose Uribe, playing as an amateur, was tied for 52nd place at 222 (+6). She posted a third round score of 78 (+6).
