USC's Robert Farah Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

Ranked #7 in the nation in singles, Robert Farah helped USC extend its winning streak to eight straight with Pac-10 wins over Stanford and Cal. Sidelined the previous week with injury, Farah returned to action at both the No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles positions, getting decisive wins across the board. His efforts for the Trojans over the weekend have garnered the sophomore his first career honor as Pac-10 Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

The highlight of the weekend for Farah was a big singles win over the nation's #2-ranked player, Alex Clayton of Stanford. Farah tacked up a straight-set win over Clayton, pulling off the solid upset with a 6-4, 6-4 victory. In singles play the next day, Farah beat Cal's #92 Kallim Stewart 6-3, 6-0, improving Farah to 27-9 overall and 13-4 in dual match singles.

In doubles, Farah teamed back up with Kaes Van't Hof as the nation's #2 doubles pair, and the Trojans grabbed wins in both matches at the No. 1 position to extend their winning streak to 13 straight. Farah and Van't Hof rank #2 are undefeated in dual match play: 26-3 overall and 13-0 in dual matches. USC is now 17-3 overall and 4-0 in Pac-10 play.

Farah is the third Trojan to be named Pac-10 Player of the Week this season, joining Kaes Van't Hof and Abdullah Magdas as USC's honorees.
