CORVALLIS, Ore. - Four members of the California women's gymnastics team represented the Golden Bears at the NCAA West Regional tonight in Corvallis, Ore., hosted by Oregon State. Sophomore Sophia Hocini finished in ninth in the all-around, posting a score of 38.700 to lead the Bears. The score was a career best for Hocini, and the second best all-around score of the season for Cal. Also competing was senior Siobhan Luce and juniors Jessica Kelley and Bridgette Glass.
'I'm very pleased with how well they performed tonight,' said Cal head coach Cari DuBois. 'It's not easy to come here individually without your teammates. I'm pleased with everything this team has overcome this year. They were aggressive, they were positive and they stuck together. Next year, we don't want to come back to regionals as individuals, we want to come back here as a team. Still, we will use this experience to help us next year. We're motivated to keep moving forward.'
