Grant Green Named Pac-10 Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC sophomore shortstop Grant Green has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Baseball Player of the Week for April 7 - 13, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Green, from Anaheim Hills, Calif., went 11-for-16 (.688) as USC won three of four from Top 25 opponents, No. 16 Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday and two of three from No. 5 California. Green had a triple, two stolen bases, two home runs and eight RBI in the four games. Against California, he went 2-for-3 on Friday with three RBI, 4-for-4 on Saturday and 3-for-5 on Sunday with two RBI against Cal. Green has a nine-game hitting streak, batting .605 (23-for-38) and hitting .720 (18-for-25) in his last six games.

USC plays at No. 15 Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday before a nonconference series this weekend against UC Santa Barbara.
