Cougars Travel to Pac-10 Tournament

Pullman, Wash. - The Washington State University tennis team (16-9 overall, 2-6 Pac-10), ranked No. 42 (ITA) nationally, will travel to Ojai, California to compete in the Pacific-10 Conference Tournament.
Pac-10 Tournament - The Cougars will compete in the Pac-10 Tournament April 24-27 in Ojai, Calif...the tournament consists of individual singles and doubles matches and results can be found at ojaitourney.com at the completion of each day.
Last Week - Washington State University hosted in-state rival No. 34 University of Washington...the Cougars earned a 4-3 victory over the Huskies, earning it's second Pac-10 win of the season...with the win, WSU also splits the season series with UW...Bianca Selaru clinched the win for the Cougars with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Kelsey Anonsen at the No. 5 position...the win is the fifth for WSU over a ranked opponent this season.
Winning ways - Senior Ekaterina Burduli continues her journey as the all-time wins leader at WSU...Burduli earned one victory this weekend improving to 28-9 on the season...the 28 wins is the most she has recorded in her four years at WSU and it ties her with Erin Majury's 1983 record for most wins in a season...this is the third straight season Burduli has recorded 20 or more wins...she extends her school-record to 91 career victories.
Team Wins - With head coach Lisa Hart at the reigns WSU earned its 16th win of the season...this is the most wins the team has produced in a season and the third straight season of 14 or more wins during Hart's tenure.
Senior Day - The Cougar tennis team recognized its seniors this weekend during the tennis match against UW...this senior class which includes; Ekaterina Burduli, Aleksandra Stefanova and Kara Konomos is the first group of student athletes that head coach Lisa Hart recruited when she became head coach back in 2002.
Rankings -WSU holds a current ranking of No. 42 according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association...senior Ekaterina Burduli has earned a No. 52 ranking according to the ITA.
