Three Cardinal Gymnasts to Compete NCAA Individual Championships
April 26, 2008
Athens, Ga. - While the team competition is completed for Stanford women's gymnastics, the team still has three gymnasts up for individual national titles on Saturday evening at Stegeman Coliseum. Stanford has one individual national champion in the program's history when Larissa Fonatine captured the vault title in 1998.
Senior Liz Tricase is in the first of three flights in the bars championships and senior Tabitha Yim is the last of the 18 bars competitors. Tricase is a 2007 vault championship and is competing in the bars competition for the first time in her Cardinal career. Yim competes in the individual bars championships for the fourth time in her career on the Farm.
Yim and junior Nicole Ourada will continue the Stanford evening as they compete back-to-back in the beam competition. Ourada competed in the individual beam championships last season and Yim will be participating in her third beam championship of her career.
The NCAA Individual Championships competition is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. EST at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga.
