Senior Logan Taylor posted a new personal best in winning the men's 110m high hurdles and had a PR in the men's 100m dash to lead the USC track and field team yesterday (April 26) at the Tiny Lister Invitational held at Cal State Los Angeles. Also yesterday senior Lionel Larry won the men's 400m race at the UC San Diego Triton Invitational held in San Diego.

Taylor won the men's 110m HH at CSULA with a new PR of 13.69, bettering his previous top time of 13.71. He now stands just .03 seconds out of USC's all-time top 10 in the event. Taylor also set a new PR in running the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.85. Other Trojans in the 100m dash were freshman Terry Prentice who is rounding into shape and posted an 11.50 time, while redshirt freshman Sean Cawley had a 12.08 time.

Sophomore Sean Adams placed fourth in the men's 110m HH with a time of 14.87. Adams had the top collegiate time and placed second overall in the men's 400m intermediate hurdles with a new PR of 52.73. Finishing right behind him with a season best was redshirt junior Sheldon Evans with a time of 52.82. Freshman Tim Larson was 11th at 58.52 and sophomore Putchong Dispanurat was 13th with a time of 59.56.

Freshman David Branch won the men's 1500m race with a time of 4:03.77. Other Trojans in the race were senior John Peate (4:08.14), redshirt sophomore Gerad Herkey (4:11.93), freshman James Komen (4:16.15), freshman Michael Conoscenti (4:34.62), redshirt freshman Blake Adams (4:38.68) and freshman Sammy Goldberg (4:41.34).

Freshman long jumpers Elliott Ferrara (22-3) and Jude Graves (21-11) both posted season bests while jumping into a headwind.

Freshman Andres Bezamat-Homer had the fastest collegiate time and second overall with a PR of 1:45.79 in the men's 800m race. Teammate sophomore Ryan Philyaw also had a PR of 1:56.13 to place second among college runners and fourth overall.

Sophomore Judith Onyepunuka had a season best time of 11.95 to place second among collegiate runners and fifth overall in the women's 100m dash. Other Trojans running the 100m meters today were redshirt senior Michelle Sanford (12.60), sophomore Kira Davis-Quarrie (12.71), sophomore Ekene Anene (12.76) and senior Jessica Nicholas with a PR of 14.76.

Sophomore Elizabeth Olear had a season-best time of 24.57 in the 200m dash to lead Trojan runners in the event. Also running the 200m dash were Davis-Quarrie (26.57) and freshman Jennifer Mueller with a new season best of 27.39. Mueller was USC's only runner in the women's 400m race and she posted a time of 1:03.57.

Trojans in the 800m race were freshman Allison Rojewski (2:19.64), sophomore Chanel Fischetti (2:20.49), junior Melissa Margulies (2:21.97) and freshman Devon Rennie (2:28. 17).

Redshirt junior Katie Kirst won the women's 400m IH with a time of 1:01.39 and the USC women's 4x100m relay team won with a time of 47.09

In San Diego, Lionel Larry led the Trojans with a winning time of 46.54 in the men's 400m dash at the UC San Diego Triton Invitational. Sopmore Jason Price finished third (second among college runners) with a PR of 47.61. Price also had a PR of 21.99 in the men's 200m dash. Other Trojans in the 200m race were senior Philip Allen (23.20) and junior Jeffrey Woods (25.14). Allen (11.47) and Woods (11.65) also ran in the 100m race as did redshirt sophomore Kevin Deiter (12.02).

Junior Andrew Gausepohl was the only Trojan in the 800m race and he posted a season-best time of 1:55.04 to place eighth.

In the men's triple jump, sophomore Ben Brown had a wind-aided personal best jump of 47-5 3/4 (14.47m) to finish tied for fifth, while Deiter also jumped a PR of 46-10 (14.27m).

The Trojan hammer throwers also were in action and posted the following marks: redshirt junior Brian Wilhelm (185-0), freshman Trey Henderson (181-9), redshirt junior Mike Curiel (173-9) and redshirt junior Jekabs Sliede (150-3).

The only USC female running in San Diego on Saturday was sophomore Jasmine Leija from Chula Vista, and she placed 22nd with a time of 4:58.07 in the women's 1500m race.
