IRVING, Texas - University of Colorado tennis junior Monica Milewski and sophomore Camila Belassi were named to the All-Big 12 singles and doubles first team, respectively announced Monday by the conference office. The All-Big 12 honors are selected by the league's head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.

Milewski, a repeat selection from a year ago, was one of three women unanimously selected to the first team, while Belassi earned her first conference honor on the court. Last week, Belassi was awarded her first academic honor being named to the conference first team.

Milewski from Park Ridge, Ill., was CU's No. 1 singles player for the second consecutive year winning 12 matches at the top spot. She tallied a 7-5 mark in Big 12 play with six of her conference matches pitted against nationally ranked players. Last season, Milewski was also one of three women unanimously selected to the first team.

Milewski becomes the first CU women's tennis player to be named first team in back-to-back years since Nadine Kenzelmann was named to the 1997 and 1998 singles first teams. Since the inception of the Big 12 Conference, CU has had at least one singles player make the all-conference singles list.

Belassi from Paysand?, Uruguay, played the No. 1 doubles position with Milewski, winning eight spring matches, seven of them in Big 12 play. It's the second straight spring that Belassi has played the top doubles position for the Buffaloes. The last CU conference doubles honor occurred in 2005.
