Creary Placed Seventh In Heptathlon At Pac-10 Championships

Senior Keneisha Creary finished seventh at the Pac-10 Heptathlon Championships, picking up two points for the women's team as she scored 5029 points. Senior Georgea Richards finished 13th (4668) and sophomore Hillary Werth was 14th with a lifetime-best of 4472 points.
Creary was seventh after day one and did not move up a spot or drop after a solid day two performance. She started the day with the seventh-best mark in the long jump (18-2.25/712 points) and then threw 108-9 in the javelin (14th/536 pts.). She wrapped up the meet with the 15th-fastest 800m time (2:36.34) to pick up 616 points.
Richards posted the 10th-best long jump mark (17-4.50/677 pts.) and the 17th-best javelin throw (96-2/464 pts.). She ended the meet with the 11th-fastest 800m time, 2:31.04 (680 pts.).
Werth posted a lifetime-best 4472 as the day was highlighted by her season-best throw in the javelin (139-5/715 pts, 3rd overall). She opened the day with a mark of 14-11.50 in the long jump (436 points) and wrapped up the meet with a run of 2:45.66 in the 800m (510 points).
ASU's Jacquelyn Johnson won with a top score of 6307 points, giving the Sun Devils the No. 1 spot with 10 points. Oregon and Stanford are tied for second with nine points each.
