Lin/Zalameda Advance To NCAA Doubles Championship Match

Tulsa, OK - UCLA women's tennis players Tracy Lin and Riza Zalameda won their semifinal doubles match on Sunday at the NCAA Championships, advancing to Monday's final at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Lin and Zalameda, the top-seeded team in the tournament, posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Fresno State's Renata Kucerkova/Anastasia Petukhova. They will face second-seeded Melanie Gloria/Tinesta Rowe of Fresno State in Monday's final at Noon (CST).

The last UCLA team to win the doubles draw at the NCAA Championships was the tandem of Daniela Bercek and Lauren Fisher, which captured the 2004 crown in Athens, Ga. Other Bruin teams to win NCAA titles in doubles include: Heather Ludloff/Lynn Lewis (1982), Allyson Cooper/Stella Sampras (1988), Mamie Cenezia/Iwalani McCalla (1992) and Keri Phebus/Susie Starrett (1995).
