Taylor Named To PING All-Pacific Region Team

NORMAN, Okla. - Washington sophomore Nick Taylor was named to the 2008 Golf Coaches Association of America PING All-Pacific Region Team, the GCAA announced Wednesday.
PING All-Region teams consist of the top 15 individuals in their region in the Individual Ranking System. Additionally, any player ranked in the top 75 according to Golfstat or the Sagarin rankings not included in their region's top 15 are added to their All-Region team. Members of the PING All-Region teams are eligible for PING All-America honors.
Taylor, a native of Abbotsford, B.C., leads the Huskies with a 72.87 stroke average and has five top-10 finishes this year. He has been the squad's top finisher at six tournaments including the 2008 NCAA West Regional. Taylor tied for runner-up honors at the regional event, establishing a new school record finish. He turned in his career-best 54-hole (201) and 18-hole (66) scores this season.
Taylor, who is currently tied for 23rd after the first round of the NCAA Championships, won the 2007 Canadian Men's Amateur and advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2007 U.S. Amateur.
