Play Suspended at NCAA Championships

The second round of the 2008 NCAA Women's Golf Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., was suspended Wednesday due to high winds.
Only 12 teams finished their second round Wednesday while the others will resume play at 7 a.m. MDT Thursday. Play was stopped at 1:10 p.m. due to high winds and resumed again at 3:19 p.m. The official suspension came at 4:55 p.m. when teams were alerted to clear the course.
Arizona, one of the teams to finish its round, tallied a 21-over 309 in the second round. The weather affected the Wildcats, as UA's second round tally was its highest of the season.
USC and UCLA share the lead in the clubhouse at eight-over 584. USC's Belen Mozo holds the individual lead at four-under 140.
UA's Alison Walshe posted a two-over 74 Wednesday and is at six-over 150. Amanda Wilson posted a six-over 78 and sits at 10-over 154.
Senior Mary Jacobs is at 11-over 155 after carding a five-over 77. Freshman Alejandra Llaneza shot an eight-over 80 and is at 13-over 157. Emily Mason is at 19-over 163.
The 72-hole event continues through Friday at the UNM Championship Course, a par-72, 6,424-yard layout. The event is hosted by the University of New Mexico.
