Openings Still Available in Father & Son Camp
June 2, 2008
BERKELEY - Openings are still available for Cal's annual Father & Son Camp, which runs over Father's Day Weekend June 13-15 at Haas Pavilion. Led by the new Golden Bear coaching staff, under the direction of head coach Mike Montgomery, the three-day session is designed for fathers and sons to spend qualifty time together while learning more about basketball.
While some activities group fathers with fathers and sons with sons, a focus of the camp is on fathers and sons working with one another. The camp begins on Friday, June 13 with registration at 4:00 p.m. Participants spend Friday and Saturday night in the University of California dorms and eat meals in the dining commons.
Sons should be ages 6-17 and the price is $265 per participant. Camp ends on Sunday, June 15 at 12:00 noon.

In addition to Father & Son Camp, two sessions of day camp and one team camp are offered this summer. Instruction includes position specific training, fundamental skill development, and drills concentrating on shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and defensive techniques. Game play focuses on overall skill development, incorporating all aspects of the game. Players are grouped according to both age and ability levels, placing players of similar abilities and positions in the same group.
Campers will have a maximum coach to player ratio so that each camper can get a good amount of individual attention.
